Director

Karen J. Rugerio

A dynamic and creative theatre educator continuing a career of over forty years in theatre
education, Karen has a passion for developing students’ confidence and performance skills with a focus on diversity and inclusivity. Uniquely experienced in creating curricula that enables students to reach their individual potential, she demonstrate a talent for collaboration that
empowers both the organization and the individual. Through the Bridge Theatre she hopes to foster mutual respect among young people. She is committed to focus on aspects of societal problems that impact students, inspiring positive attitudes
and providing alternative actions that can help diffuse tensions in the present social climate.


Anne Frank

Emma Myerson

Emma Myerson is thrilled to take on the role of Anne Frank! She has been performing for as long as she can remember! She has been in many stage shows, her most recent show being “Six: Teen Edition”, where she was in the ensemble. She has also done some extra work in films such as “Take Note”. What she loves most about performing is how it lets her share beautiful stories and messages. Anne Frank’s story is incredibly important, and she feels honored to help bring it to the stage and engage so many students in this beautiful story. This role means a lot to Emma, and she is extremely appreciative of the Bridge Theatre for this wonderful opportunity!


Emmett Till

Connor Chaumley

Conner Chaumley is an African American actor currently working on his first production with The Bridge Theatre. He is currently a fourth-year theater student at Rollins College hoping to complete his theatre arts degree in performance. Some of his well-known roles within Rollins College have been playing Travis Younger in A Raisin in the Sun along with playing Langston Hughes in a production that was produced by Rollins, along with written by himself along with other Rollins students titled Let The People Sing. He wants to thank his professor, Missy Barnes for opening this opportunity for him!


Mamie Till

Tabitha Matthews

Tabitha Matthews is a dynamic and versatile actress with experience across classical, contemporary, and ensemble-driven theatre. Her stage credits include The Sound of Music, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, The Colored Museum, Steel Magnolias, Grease, and Quilters.

Tabitha is known for her ability to bring emotional depth, authenticity, and nuance to both dramatic and comedic roles. Her work in culturally significant and socially reflective productions demonstrates a strong commitment to storytelling that uplifts, challenges, and connects audiences. Equally comfortable in intimate ensemble pieces and large-scale productions, she brings a grounded presence and thoughtful artistry to every performance.

Tabitha continues to pursue opportunities that allow her to grow as a performer while contributing meaningfully to the theatrical community.


Otto Frank

Paul Thompson

Paul returned to his love of acting and performing after a successful career as an educator.  His most recent theater performance was playing the character Joe Boyd in “DAMN Yankees” last summer at The Regional Theater of the Palouse and prior to that  J.D. in the musical “Escape To Margaretville” at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre.  Paul has performed with the MNM Theatre Company and was part of the South Florida Premier of “Meet Me At The Oak” at the M Ensemble in Liberty City.  Two of his favorite roles was playing Billy Flynn in “Chicago” and The King of Siam in “The King and I” directed by the late esteemed theatre director Bob Bogdanoff. Paul can be seen acting in several award winning independent films portraying many various characters these day and recently wrapped working on a horror film that is in post production.


J.W. Milam

Marvin Applegate

Marvin Applegate is a German-American actor currently appearing in his third production with The Bridge Theatre. He began his professional career as an animal biologist in Germany before deciding to pack up his life and follow his dream of becoming an actor in the United States. In addition to reprising the role of Alfred Dussel in The Diary of Anne Frank, Marvin has appeared in multiple film projects and most recently played the main villain, Jonathan Brewster, in Arsenic and Old Lace at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse. He continues to focus on telling bold stories and expanding his work across stage and screen


Anne Frank Understudy/Swing

Julia Mary Kaufman

Julia Mary Kaufman has been acting since the age of five. She is currently getting her BFA in Acting at the University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance. This fall, as an understudy/swing, Julia had the wonderful experience of performing as Anne in The Bridge Theatre’s The Diary of Anne Frank. She has performed at Lincoln Center as a National Semi-finalist in ESU’s National Shakespeare Competition and has acted in various film projects. Her other theatre credits include Hamlet (Ophelia), The Conference of the Birds (Dove), and The Servant of Two Masters (Brighella). Julia wants to thank Karen Rugerio and everyone involved with Anne & Emmett for creating art to help foster a kinder, more inclusive world.
